हिंदू धर्म के अनुसार देशभर में अजा एकादशी (Aja Ekadashi) का व्रत कल यानि 3 सितंबर, शुक्रवार को रखा जाएगा. भाद्रपद के कृष्ण पक्ष में आने वाली एकादशी को अजा एकादशी कहते हैं. इसे जया एकादशी (Jaya Ekadashi) या कामिका एकादशी (Kamika Ekadashi) के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. इस दिन भगवान विष्णु और तुलसी की पूजा की जाती है. इस दिन भगवान विष्णु के साथ-साथ श्री कृष्ण और विष्णु के अन्य अवतारों की भी पूजा की जाने की परंपरा है. जया एकादशी पर सुबह और शाम दोनों समय तुलसी जी की पूजा की जाती है. ऐसा कहा जाता है कि विष्णु भगवान के साथ तुलसी की पूजा होना जरूरी है. भगवान विष्णु की पूजा और नेवेघ लगाते समय तुलसी का इस्तेमाल विशेषतौर से करना चाहिए.
